Upgrading to KDE3.4

Hi all,

I am a newbie to Linux. I use SuSE 9.2 eval
I wanted to upgrade my KDE to 3.4

But I received that error while upgrading:

Why did you post the same exact thread to two different forums? The mods tend to enforce crossposting rules rather strictly.

ANYWAY to answer your question:

Note the errors: complaints about missing files and directories. Rather than spoon-feed you I will help you learn how to resolve the dependencies.

In one error, the compiler is complaining about Xlib.h's not being present, or not being where the compiler expects it -- or you forgot to run ./configure prior to running make. In either case, try re-running ./configure in the project's directory. I see that since you also posted this topic in the Suse/Novell forum that you are running Suse Linux - in that case, Xlib.h should be located in /usr/X11R6/include/X11/Xlib.h and not {...current working directory...}/X11/Xlib.h

Xlib.h is one of the X library header files required in order to compile programs which link to those libraries. If after you run ./configure in the project directory, the compiler still cannot find the library, you need to install the development headers.
