upgrading mozilla on rh8.0

Hi, I want to upgrade my mozilla from the default installed with RH8.0 (Mozilla 1.0.1). (I use mozilla on the kde desktop).

I downloaded Mozilla 1.2.1 .tar.gz and folowed the install instructions. It runs but I've lost all my bookmarks and settings.

When I installed it asked for an installation directory and I took the default /usr/local/mozilla, it had to create this directory. I dont know where the original mozilla is installed (my menu links just execute "htmlview" which is a script and then I started getting more confused).

Anyway, I guess I installed rather than upgraded. What is the best way to do this, as an upgrade? (and should I uninstall the 1.2.1 one first and try again?)

thanks

Can't you get a mozilla update with up2date?

I think up2date wants to upgrade me from 1.01-24 to 1.01-26, not 1.2.1

When you install a new version of Mozilla, you are committed to install it in a new folder, you may not install it scraping the old folder.

Your favorites & bookmarks should still be in the old folder.

Check it out.
