Upgrading KDE with Swaret

I have just installed swaret, and done as everybody says on here and commented out the Exclude rules in the swaret.conf file. Now I would like to take the plunge and upgrade kde 3.1 to 3.2. I ran get --update let it run, then ran get --upgrade -a (As root of course). A lot of things were downloaded and installed, and when I restarted the computer it looked like it had upgraded the kernel because all of the modules had to be scanned and stuff. Now, I start KDE and it still shows 3.1 on the splash screen, and the control panel still says I am using 3.1.4. Why didnt KDE upgrade? What should I do to get it to work?

Thank you

In swaret.conf, you probably have a line (very near the top) which reads version=9.1. Since 9.1 ships with 3.1.4, that is the newest version it will install.

You need to change the line so it reads version=current. Current is the newest packages available for Slackware - afaik these are the packages which, once the developers are happy they are stable, will form the next version of Slackware.

Run swaret --update then swaret --upgrade -a and let it go. This will take a while as it will update all of your packages to whatever is in current. So the rider on this is "use it at your own risk". I personally have never had a problem with the current packages, but others have reported that they have.
