Upgrade Red Hat

Now I am using Red Hat version 7.2. In a PC stand alone. Not connected to a Network. The System's booting with a boot disk. Just to personnel use.

I would like to upgrade the Red Hat, but I don't know if it is possible to upgrade directly to version 8 or 9 or I need to upgrade first to 7.3, then to 8, then to 9, I mean, in sequence of versions without hops.

What things I have to take into account in either case.

What is your suggestion?

You dont, you can just upgrade strait to 9 (or 8, if you want to). Just choose "upgrade" during the install process.

Its never really recommended to upgrade over an existing install, because things get "yucky" and generally dont work as well as a clean install, but it CAN be done.

Thank contrasutra

I will upgrade strait to 9.

Unfortunatelly I have to upgrade because if I uninstall 7.2 to install 9 as new one I fear to loose my windows 2000 just installed in the second extended partition.
Red Hat is in the first extended partition. In the prymary partition I have Windows ME.
