Upgrade problems on SUSE 10.1 with all package managers

I have tried SMART, which returns an error, the YaST manage software thing, which just dissapears from the screen as if it were never there, and the zen updater, which returns an error then crashes and leaves my kde tray.

The zen updater error is this:
Establishing script:libzypp-patch-zmdrestart.sh-2-1533-1.noarch[SUSE-Linux-10.1-Updates]
This would invalidate script:libzypp-patch-zmdrestart.sh-2-1533-1.noarch[SUSE-Linux-10.1-Updates].
Marking this resolution attempt as invalid.

Its confusing me and driving me crazy. Help please?
