Updating KDE: How do you do it?????
Right now, I'm running KDE 3.2 on MandrakeLinux 10.0 I would like to use themes from KDE-look.org, but unfortunately, KDE 3.2 doesnt have a theme manager handle these files.
So, apparently, I need to update my version of KDE to 3.3 The thing is, how do I go about doing that? As far as I know, there isnt any "Update KDE" function in the Kcontrol panel. Am I looking in the right place? If I have to download files for KDE 3.3, which ones do I pick and how do I go about installing them? Should I just do a regular ./configure, make, make install? :newbie: :Pengy: |
Try finding some RPMs. maybe
urpmi kdebase3 will help I updated it on SuSE with just downloading RPMs and manually installing them. |
Ok, I'll try finding RPMS. But what do you mean by a manual install? Dont they automatically install themselves? Also, is it possible to get a just the theme manager for KDE 3.2?
|
I meant manually installing is installing with rpm -Uvh, not with urpmi or something like that.
Don't know anything about theme manager for kde 3.2 - but kde 3.3 is much better IMHO. |
K, I'll just upgrade to KDE 3.3 then :)
