Question Updatedb and Locate - commands not found

I installed mdk 9.1 on a new machine and tried to run updatedb and locate commands, but I get "command not found". AFAIK these programs are part of the "findutils" package, which is installed on my machine (I reinstalled just in case, so it's really there)

Any ideas what might have happened?

Check /usr/bin for locate and updatedb... if they are in that directory, that means your path got mixed up somehow.

try
find /* -path *updatedb
find /* -path *locate

In slack locate and updatedb are part
of the sloacte-package, not find. findutils
holds find and xargs :}
