updated kernel w/up2date ... now dual boot

I ran the up2date software and it showed that there was an updated RH9 kernel that can be installed, so I did, now I have a dual boot startup where I can choose between the old and new kernels. Is there a way around this...? I also had LVM setup before the kernel update was installed.

You can reconfigure the boot menu by changing your bootloader configuration. If you are using grub this means editing /boot/grub/boot.conf. Here is a grub manual:

http://www.gnu.org/software/grub/manual/grub.html

If you are using lilo then edit /etc/lilo.conf. After you are through editing lilo.conf then run the lilo command. Here is a lilo HOWTO:

Thanks for the info ... jailbait ...

I will give it a shot as soon as I get home and then post the outcome. I did speak to a guy here at work and he says that it's ok to have the two kernels installed it just wastes disk space, but he says that one can be deleted by deleting the corresponding files...
