Update RH 7 Professional Workstation

SO while trying ot update RH after a recent install i got this gay little message. I thought RH was free? since when do i have to have an entitlement to update what i already bought?

Error Message:
Service not enabled for system profile: "silverdot"
Error Class Code: 31
Error Class Info:
This system does not have a valid entitlement for Red Hat Network.
Please visit rhn.redhat.com/network/systems/entitlements .pxt
or login at rhn.redhat .com, and from the "Systems" tab,
select "System Entitlements" to enable RHN service for this system.
Explanation:
An error has occurred while processing your request. If this problem
persists please enter a bug report at bugzilla.redhat.com.
If you choose to submit the bug report, please be sure to include
details of what you were trying to do when this error occurred and
details on how to reproduce this problem.

Unless it's a simple fix i may just go with a different version of Lunix. Thanks for the help

It used to be, a long time ago, that you had to register for the Red Hat Network to get updates for Red Hat distros. Registration was free, but a survey had to be done once every few months to keep the account alive. They changed all that around Red Hat 9 (the last version of red hat I would ever touch). Even those of us who had paid ($60 per year) RHN accounts lost our accounts, as the distro formerly known as Red Hat Linux went completely commercial, and Fedora Core was born.

I don't know how the RHN works with the profession desktop version, but it sounds like you need to register it. If you paid for it I can't imagine RH charging you for the support account for it. You may need to call them, but I would head to their website and see if there is a place to register that version.
