update Bios


i was wondering how i could find out what kind of motherboad i have so i can find out how to update my BIOS so i can overclock my P3.

I really have no idea whatsoever what this has to do with linux? And as far as motherboards go, ask the person who made your computer, obvoiusly they would know.

it has to do with linux because i want to know if there is a program that displays the devices such as motherboard.

go to the system tools and click on Hardware Browser
click on the video card option and on the right side look at Driver.
]it wil give you your motherboard type in linux.

Thanks, now i goda look for updates. Probly goda read a bunch of stuff, is iit that tricky to update the bios in mandrake. Anything special i should look out for? suggestions, oppinions, anything? Any help is appriciated, im just a

i have never updated BIOS myself .. i think u cannot updte it becaus eit is a part of the ROM and U cannot change ROM info in a system...
anyways, if u upgrade BIOS, do tell me on visheshonly@hotmail.com.
i myself am intrested into that partg of computers.
