I downloaded and installed the ut-install-436.run. Installation carries on without any problem, i chose Opengl when asked in installation because i own a GeForce2GTS but when i try to start ut it crashes with the following output (from ut -log):

you probably have a stupid buggy "hardware optimized" unreal, you know, these cd they give with video card, most of time, these cd are tweaked to give better performance for your vieo card, but of course, get in trouble if you're running linux. I don't remember how I got mine working, I think I have copied everything from a windoze installation over my linux install or something like this.
Yeah, i finnaly got mine working after 2 hours or so. I did the following: i installed an older version (wich had other stupid errors) than reinstalled the newer version over it and ironically (i dont have any ideea why) it worked.
Okay guys I've figured out this problem after trying for hours, Seems that the installer / patch has trouble patching the .u files to version 436. Luckily I have Windows w/ UT 436 installed so I just copied all the .u files from the UT's System directory on my Windows drive to the UT's system directory on my Linux drive, and it worked perfectly.
