unknown authorization state

I have been struggling for a week and a half on getting this email server up and running. I'm using SuSe 9.3 and Virtualmin; Postifx is the MTA (with virtual domains) and the standard POP/IMAP in the SuSe distribution as the POP server. To test the connection I:

telnet domain 25 gives me a response
telnet domain 110 gives me a response

however, after doing telnet to port 110 and enter the command:

user username.domainowner

I get the Unknown Authorization state command

From within Webmin, I send email from the linux machine to my exchange server account at work, and get the mail with no problem; when I reply I get the following mesage from PostFix:

<rwboggess.rbogge@linux1.leeandwheeler.com> (expanded from
<rwboggess@leeandwheeler.com>): Host or domain name not found. Name service
error for name=linux1.leeandwheeler.com type=AAAA: Host not found.

When I attempt to send email from one linux account to another, I get nothing.

At this point, I suspect my problem goes deeper then the POP3 server software, but I'm not sure since I'm getting this error message back from postfix.

Any ideas or assistance is greatly appreciated. If you need additional information, please let me know. I will do what I can to get it.

Thanks,

Bob Boggess
