Uninstall Drivers

How do I uninstall ATI Video Drivers? I have installed the wrong drivers and I was wondering if I needed to uninstall the old ones first? Thanks.

I'm not sure about how to uninstall it, but you should just be able to install the new drivers on top of the old ones.
This has worked for me!

Does one take more priority over the other?

Installing the ATI drivers builds a module fglrx and then installs the files to the necessary locations.

Installing it again with a different version will simply overwrite the actual module files, so the old fglrx module will no longer exist.

You may still have some intermediate files from the old driver lying around on your hard drive, but they shouldn't cause any harm.

I do not know much about this but , to my experience if you want to delete the driver, you only have to remove the module associated with it . For Red hat linux you use the command rmmod followed by the name of the module . You can also leave the the old module there , but , must make sure that in the list of modules ( lsmod ) the module that you want appears 1st , otherwise it might mount the want you don't want .

Good luck
