Undoing dual boot

How could I go about undoing a dual boot? I currently have XP and Ubuntu 5.10. Last time I messed up and just deleted the Linux partitions, but then I wasn't able to boot into either OS. I don't have any installation or boot discs as I purchased the laptop through my school.

Also, I can't seem to use Partition Magic 8 anymore, I get an error 117 everytime I try to run it.

hi,
i assume that you had Windowx XP + ubuntu5.10 then you delete linux partitions and not able to bott either one right? then either install linux again or use Windowx XP disc in rescue mode. without installation cds you can't recover your system.

Well I meant I had this setup once before and I just deleted the partitions and couldnt get either. Now I have a working XP/Ubuntu setup and want to safely return it to an XP only system.

hi,
now i got clear understanding of your question. you want windows Xp back. then get windows bootable floppy and on command prompt fdisk /mbr(remember i dont know whether this will work or not as i did such task 2-3 times with windows XP installation disk by booting it into rescue mode successfully) better to ask any windows forum
