Unable to use GAIM with MSN

Hi! I'm a linux beginner,however i haven't had so many problems except one, that is making me crazy!
I use Mandrake 9.2, I download Gaim 0.71 and all the libraries needed, installed them and
all seemed to work fine, but when I load Gaim,I try to connect to my MSN account, and then Gaim synchronizes with the server, send my password and then return a "Unable to read from server" error.
What can I do?

MSN decided to 'improve' MSN, but I suspect the real aim is to force Non windows users out.

Is it possible that you're behind some kind of firewall/proxy system? Even if it worked using other client software, MSN can be pretty kinky with firewall/proxy setups (experience of friends on uni networks).

Oh, and don't forget to retype your password ;-)

yes I have a network and i use NAT. but If I install Gaim 0.71 in windows xp on the same machine it works fine....
Only in linux it gives me problems.

you'll need to install 0.71 gaim and mozilla-nss
this will fix your issue most garunteed
