Unable to rotate monitor in kde 3.2

I would like to be able to rotate my monitor 90 degrees sometimes.
However in KDE control center > Peripherals > Display the section for orientation has all the options disabled except for "Normal"

How can I enable the other settings to allow me to rotate the screen?

If relevant my configuration is Mandrake 10 / KDE 3.2 / XFree86 4.3 / ati9800xt video card running with latest ati driver / iiyama au5131 monitor.

Thank you.

if you are reffering to physical rotation of the monitor, it may not be fully implemented yet,
and try using your hand to rotate the monitor.

Very clever. The RandR extension (Resize & Rotate) is there in only partial form in Mandrake's KDE 3.2 as far as I can tell. I gather there was buggy support in earlier versions (see the link at <http://www.pclinuxonline.com/modules...ticle&sid=3620>), but the current GUI interface doesn't let me select the rotation options either. Maybe down the road..
