Unable to reserve mem region
I have a VIA Unichrome video card intergrated in the K8N800 chipset. I installed a drm module and a via module under that. Downloaded from http://dri.freedesktop.org/
The modules loaded successfully but here is an error I got in syslog: Code:
PCI: Unable to reserve mem region #1:4000000@f0000000 for device 0000:01:00.0Code:
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: VIA Technologies, Inc.: Unknown device 3108 (rev 01) |
MezzyMeat,
This is just a wild guess, but I thinik ( and I stress the word 'think' ), that when you lspci and you get a " Unknown device xxxx ", (xxxx = device number) it means that the kernel does not support the device. You may need to find a kernel patch for the device, OR upgrade the kernel maybe? What kernel are you running? IF slack 10.0 (under your name), you still have the 2.4.xx kernel? -tw |
