Unable to install rpm

When I install a software , it pop the messages " Warning: No gettext utility installed; continuing with English localization" , but I found that the gettext is installed , can advise what is wrong , how can I fix it ? thx in advance.

#rpm -qa |grep gettext
gettext-0.11.4-7

Check the following

$ rpm -V gettext

See if all the files are present or some have been deleted.

And as for the new rpm do this

$ rpm --requires -qp rpmname

See if the gettext version needed by your new rpm is available in ur system.[you should have a version equal to or greater than the version required ]

If u are sure about the gettext rpm you can force install ur new rpm with

$ rpm --force -ivh rpmname
