Unhappy Unable to boot!

While booting RedHat ES 3.0 Update 6 I am getting following errors:

Quote:
fsck.ext3 /dev/VollGroup00/rootvol

superblock could not be read...

e2fsck -b 8193 <device>

No such file or directory when trying to open /dev/VollGroup00/rootvol
Any ideas ???

Just to add more info to my problem:

I booted with the RedHat ES 3.0 Update 6 install CD in linux rescue mode. However, the volume /dev/VollGroup00/rootvol is not seen.

I tried som lvsca, vgscan... nothing seen...

When booted into resuce mode, can you run a pvscan and see the physical volume?

Can you see any other volume in the volume group?
