I'm running RH9 and didn't install a bunch of apps during my initial installation (ie. development tools, etc). So, i go to 'add/remove programs' and select the additional software to install. After clicking the update button, it processes the data and then presents me with a list of dependency packages that it claims aren't installed and thus the update can't complete.
I've already run 'apt-get upgrade y' and updated everything, including the kernel. I know I have the packages it claims are missing because:
1) i tried to update them individually using 'apt-get install xyz' and it said it's already up to date
2) i d/l'd the rpm's for them and when i tried installing, it says a newer version already exists and doesn't install.
