ubuntu xgl

is xgl 7 the latest version? im gearing up to install it and i want to make sure that the package in the synaptic manager is the latest and greatest. i am using ubuntu and have an onboard geforce 6100. also can anyone point me to the best install guide for the xgl on ubuntu. thank you very much

p.s. how stable is xgl by the way.

i suggest you read this guide. And when i used it on my system it was perfectly stable.
