Ubuntu, Openoffice, and MS access?

I was haveing some trubals with Openoffice.org running Base wizzards in Ubuntu. All forums I have looked at have sugested installing Openoffice.org from the RPM files. So I did based of the http://www.stchman.com/install_oo.html website. Now I don't have the option anymore to convert my MS access files into Openoffice Base files. What can I do to convirt my MS Access files into OpenOffice.org base files?

Access Conversion

I am still looking to convert MDB files into Openoffice files. I am even ok with converting it into an excel file. I just not want to have to install MS office in wine. :-(

OOo can run Excel files. Check out Rekall for your Access database, I believe it can read them and use them.

Rekall is not a database. It's a GUI for existing database programs like SQL. Plus I know Excell files can be opened in OpenOffice.org. This is why I asked How to convirt a MDB into one in linus. I am interested in getting my MDB files to work in linux.

http://dba.openoffice.org/drivers/mdb/index.html and http://solyaris.wordpress.com/2007/0...iles-on-linux/ would seem to be what you need.
