Ubuntu crashes when starting VirtualBox
If I start my VirtualBox on Ubuntu 11.04 it crashes 50% of the time... The whole system hangs, even the music keeps playing the last 2 seconds over and over...
I can't find useful information in the Log File Viewer. Does anybody know something about this issue, or know where I can find more information to determine the cause? I'm using seperate X screens, maybe it has something to do with that? |
The last time I used VirtualBox I needed to compile some kernel modules after every kernel update. Was VirtualBox acting fine before? You could try running this command as root: /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup. This was what I used to recompile the module on archlinux except my exact command was /etc/rc.d/vboxdrv setup.

Thanks for your reply,
I think I installed it after the kernel update... I also don't have a /etc/init.d/vboxdrv (also not in rc.d). (I installed it using the Software Center) I searched for vboxdrv, but it only found object code (.ko) and two directories (in usr/src and var/lib)... |
