Ubuntu 11.10 Network Manager issues connecting to wireless network after restart

I just found one problem with Ubuntu 11.10 Network Manager. It can connect to Access Point just fine but after several restarts, it will start having issues wherein you can see that the wireless is connected to access point, IP is there as well as the gateway but you cannot ping the gateway and any other hosts on the same network.

This can be fixed by removing network-manager and installing it back. But that is a hassle since you will need to connect to a wired connection to download the package.

Found out that network manager could not interact properly with WPA supplicant. The solution for me is to install wpa_gui and initiate a connection to it.
