uboot unable to start arm embedded kernal

Hi All,
I am new to uboot and kernel building and recently for my new project
I build uboot for dm320 board and build the uImage[linux-arm 2.6] kernel.

I configured the kernel with old config with some default options and i dont understand most of them really but i want to first port the kernal on the board.

when i start loading kernel my uboot hangs at point
"Starting kernel" and it hangs there.

can any one let me know what may be reason and what points i had to check when i am configuaring my kernal and boot loader.

I request some one to please cater their time and give some suggestions.

thanks,
Srinivas
