Type into a PDF and save the changes?

Type into a PDF and save the changes.

Is there a PDF program that will do this, one program, pretty much out of the box?

Converting the PDF to something like a text file, adding text, and converting back would be OK if it actually worked. I tried eprint with Windows, either I couldn't figure it out, or it really is so wanky as to be unusable for what I am wanting to do.

All I am wanting to do is to down load these job applications in PDF, and type into them before I print them out.

Thanks for any help and replies,

I'm not sure if there is an open-source program that can write to PDF. PDF is a Adobe format.

There are several *nix apps: try converting to PS (postcript) format. Add whatever you need to add, then revert to pdf via ps2pdf.
If you are using a Linux box, first run 'updatedb', then 'locate ps2' to see what apps turns up.

Easiest way to convert to postscript is is to use pdf2ps.
(opposite algorithm of ps2pdf).

Openoffice can export to PDF, but a good way I use to write for a PDF (and it's pretty) is using LaTeX and using texi2pdf.

Ok, the converting went fine, but the "add what you want" part is not going so well.

Am I thinking correctly that I need to learn how to write postscript from the ground up?

Is there an app that will open the new ps file and allow me to work with it in a "wysiwyg" fashion?

Thanks for your help and replies,

tiagomadeira, I have not yet figured out how to work with LaTex and texi2pdf
From what I have read so far I think I will have pretty much the same situation with LaTex and texi2pdf?
