two weird redhat 7.3 problems

The first problem is that when updating from 7.2 to 7.3 I forgot to unselect some languages that I didn't need (like french and all that). After installing redhat I removed them using the package manager but my hard drive still says it has the same amount of space and I deleted like 17 packages and the smallest was like 3 megs. I don't know why it isn't recognizing that I deleted them, I uninstalled the packages, I don't know what the deal is.

The second problem is that when I access the "start menu" and I go over to say the games folder, it ONLY lists the subfolders, it won't list the individual games that are supposed to be below the subfolders. I do know that there are supposed to be games there because I went into the menu editor and the games I was looking for were all in there. Now I can paste those games into the subfolders using the menu editor, but it really doesn't seem right. I hope what I am sayin makes sense. It is like going into windows and going on the start menu and going to programs/accessories and seeing the folders that branch off but no MSpaint or wordpad or any of the usual standard programs that aren't in their own subfolder. Thank you for your time.

You're using Nautilus, right?

If you are, as a hint, don't.

Use the old GMC instead.

% gmc

it's a more responsive gui file manager and it doesn't need to cache useless information.

I'll have to check and see if I am using nautilus or not. What is nautilus exactly? Thanks for the tips though, any idea on the other problem with the "start menu" (I don't know what else to call it). Thanks for you help, take care.

Well, I fixed the problem with the menu not showing all the items that it should, but I still don't know why when I uninstalled those packages it didn't free up any room. If anyone could please help me with this I would really appreciate it!! Thank you for your time.
