I'm having two problems with Kopete. First off, the send button is grayed out when someone isn't online. Normally this isn't a problem, after all, what's the point of sending a message to someone if they aren't there, right? The problem is that my friend likes to be invisible, and he thought I wasn't there because I could not reply. I had to get a different friend tell him to go visible so I could use my send button. Is there a way to fix this?
Also, I notice I have to take my hand off the keyboard, put it on the mouse, click, take it off, and put it back on the keyboard every time I send a message because enter starts a new line instead of sends. Is there a keyboard shortcut so I can send the message using the keyboard?
I just got another invisible person who tried to contact me, saw that I "wasn't there" and said they'd talk to me later. I tried GAIM back with Windows, but I really don't like it as much as Kopete, so I would prefer to use Kopete. I'm sure Kopete wouldn't be so popular if there wasn't a way to fix this. Does anyone know how I can get this to work?
As for the hitting ENTER problem, I managed to get that sorted out. I went to Tools > Configure shortcuts in a message window, and was able to see that "Send Message" was set to CTRL+ENTER. I changed it to ENTER to get the ideal behavior for what I wanted.
I've been thinking for a while, and it dawned on me that AIM invisible mode is reletively new. I looked around the Kopete GUI, and I noticed that I could go invisible in Yahoo, but not AIM. I have yet to see the problem occur with invisible Yahoo! users, so I'll test that with my friend tomorrow. If my theory is correct, then Kopete assumes the person is not online because it does not know about invisibility in AIM.
Given this new information, is there anything I can do?
