tv out with geforce card
I am running fedora core 2 with a geforce 2 GTS video card. I have installed the latest version of the nvidia drivers, and am able to use the drivers without any trouble. I have tv out on my card, and am not sure how to get it to work. I have changed the driver in the /etc/xorg.conf file so that im using the nvidia drivers. I can use ctrl-alt f8 and get my tv to respond to the signal, but its blank, and I can go back to my monitor with ctrl-alt f7 no problem. What exactly is happening when I push ctrl-alt f8? I only have one xorg.conf file, but I have read that I might need to make another one. Also I saw where someone put more than one "monitor" and more than one "screen" sections in there .conf file also. I am aware that I need to have the refresh rates set to 30-50 and 60fps respectively, but I have not put that ini the config file successfully. i don't want the tv to be the default display either, I would like to launch another X session on the tv from my monitor. My end goal is to have the fedora tower next to the tv, with a XDMCP server running and log into the machine from my windows laptop via wireless from the couch and open + play videos while sitting on my ass. Anyhow, first things first, I need to get the tv working, and I think the rest is history. Thanks so much for any input.
