tutorial for upgrading the kernel ?


Could someone point me to a good tutorial on how to upgrade my kernel version (patching and recompiling) from 2.6.12 to 2.6.15 ???

Go to official linux kernel site kernel.org
If not helpful go to linux documentation project linuxdoc.org
I hope these two official site will be good enough for you.

The easiest way to upgrade your kernel is;

yum update kernel
The new version 2.6.15 will be installed automatically.Keep the old version in case of you have a problem with the new one.
