trying to make rpm 2.6.0 kernel

I keep getting a error when trying to build a 2.6.0 rpm kernel.

RPM build errors:
Could not open %files file /usr/src/redhat/BUILD/kernel-2.6.0/debugfiles.lis t: No such file or directory
make: *** [rpm] Error 1

I have tried all of these things
/usr/lib/rpm/redhat/macros change %_enable_debug_packages to "0"
and
/usr/src/linux/Makefile change %_enable_debug_packages to "0"
and
make a .rpmmacros file in home dir that contains %debug_package %{null}

nothing is working I have tried this both in fedora and redhat 9.0 and I keep getting this error

Anyone know what the fix is?
