Trying to install Trac on CentOS 4

Hey Guys,

I'm very very new at all of this, and I have been struggling to try and get Trac installed all afternoon with no luck. I managed to setup Apache and MySQL, but I just get no where with Trac.

I have gone through a couple of tutorials on how to do it, but they all seem to end in a similar fashion, I'll link this one as reference; http://jwamicha.wordpress.com/2008/0...-centosfedora/

Basically, I get to the "INSTALLING TRAC SERVER ON CENTOS" stage, and when I attempt the final point, being the yum install of the packages, yum just fails to find any of them.

Following another tutorials advise, I downloaded the packages manually from the Dag repo, but when trying to install them I run into wall after wall of one package require me to install another, which requires another etc. It go to a point where it was asking me to install glibc, which I tried but was told it is already installed, and then I read that I probably shouldn't screw around with that package anyway.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I do not know much about TRAC program but try out this link http://www.madboa.com/geek/trac-centos/ see if it might help out.

Thanks for your reply.

That was the first tutorial I was attempting to follow. Unfortunatley when I get to actually trying to install the TRAC package, it asks me to install 3 other packages (which aren't mentioned in the tutorial - although others that are required are). One of the packages I need is the glibc which I should apparently not touch, and even when I try to install it, it is already installed.

mmhhh thats abit wierd, n can you please name the other packages that are missing might n maybe attach some error messages of wat happens when you try to install and also try to cat /var/log/messages file for any errors that occur during the installation.
