Trying to Install Mint 18 On Asus Desktop With UEFI
I'm having issues with what UEFI firmware settings are required to install Mint 18 (64bit) on my Asus desktop. I have Windows 10 now but I am looking to install Mint on the machine. I thought about a dual boot but from what I have been reading that's not so easy. When I get the desktop to load from the dvd (not often..trial and error) I get a infinite loop and have to shut it down. Attached are snapshots of the boot menu and sub-menus. I managed to disable the secure boot as shown. The iso dvd is good because I loaded it on another machine that had bios firmware. I have been using Linux for ~2-3 years on other machines but I am by no means a wiz at this stuff. Any explanations and help will be appreciated. Tks Dennis
