Trying to install Brasero (Bonfire) on Unbuntu Dapper

I am trying to install Brasero (a CD/DVD mastering tool for the gnome desktop) on Ubuntu Dapper. I can "./configure" and it's results are;

Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.

Alternatively, you may set the environment variables BRASERO_CFLAGS
and BRASERO_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
See the pkg-config man page for more details.

But when I go to "make", I get this;

bob@Office-desktop:~/brasero-0.5.1$ make
make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found. Stop.

Can someone tell me what's wrong and how do I fix it?

These look to be your problems - you need to have these things installed first.

By the way, before tearing your hair out finding them all, try rerunning the ./configure step, but this time don't do "sudo ./configure" that step should be run as your user account. If you get the same error, you're going to have to go lobrary hunting.

Thanks for your reply.

Tried running just "./configure" but all I got was this;

bob@Office-desktop:~/brasero-0.5.1$ ./configure
./configure: line 1238: config.log: Permission denied

how do I work around this?

I suspect that you may have untarred the file using sudo - this means that only root users can run ./configure. No matter - assuming you still have the rar.gz file, just delete the Brasero directory (you may need to use sudo to do it) and then, as your normal user, untar the file again and try the ./configure step.
