Trying to find Linux Mint Maya on CD, not DVD or USB

I'd like to find Linux Mint Maya on cdrom (or downloadable cdrom iso).

I have, and I bet lots of folks have, an older computer which cannot (will not without much effort) boot from either a DVD or a USB. Is that so rare?

I do not want to learn how to build my own iso. Really, like most users (as opposed to power users), I just want to load it and use it, not spend hours learning how to configure more software just to get the OS. Not interested in using PLOP or other work-arounds, or torrent.

Ideas? If it matters, I'm looking for LMDE Mate, XFCE, 32-bit.

Thanks,
Keith

Edit: Just reread the original post, so no torrent which my link is to.

As far as I know, you can't get it any more: only DVD. I sympathise, as my laptop is the same. Since it was the Debian edition you wanted, get Debian instead. You can get up and running with just their first CD, switch the repository from stable to testing, and then get your software.

Well, it seems I'm wrong. Full marks to Denis!

Yea, but that's a lot of work (time) as opposed to just loading a cd and running an install. Even if they distributed a netinstall version that would make it easier.

I just can't imagine that there are so few people with old machines that the development team decided to stop circulating cd's just so they can include Gimp, LibreOffice, Samba, and a few other very large programs not even distro specific or universally wanted.

And really, isn't supporting older machines an important purpose for Linux? So that following (cough, Micro$oft) upgrades doesn't force you to upgrade your hardware?

There are usually work around's for many issues.

Might see if plop would boot to a usb storage.

Might be possible to do a network install.

Might be possible to move the drive to a new system and load it there.

There are also ways to install the OS from a different OS.

I can't say what would happen if you were to overburn by that much. I have overburned a bit before and it worked.
