Re #17.
Fedora 12 is old an unsupported. ( The current version is Fedora 23.)
You will always have to replace the files in /etc/yum.repos.d/
... after the OS install. Then you can install packages with yum.
Replace the old files with this one, fedora12.repo, pointing to the "old archive" :
The links are pointing to a folder "repodata/" :
One in .../Everything/i386/os/, and one in .../updates/12/i386/
... And they seem OK : repodata/repomd.xml ( You can check.)
So why are you having those errors ? A firewall ? Proxy ?
i must disable the firewall?
about the proxy, i don't know exactly, what i know that i connect from the wifi that i have at home, and i use the NAT (network updater) of the vmware player.
oh finally i think the problem is solved and the download started.
the problem was: i only replaced the /etc/yum.repos.d/fedora.repo file but i did not replaced the
/etc/yum.repos.d/fedora-updates.repo file.
those two files have now the same contents and when the download start in the terminal i have this message:
Quote:
Repository fedora12 is listed more than once in the configuration
Repository fc12-updates is listed more than once in the configuration
but the download continue and complete without problem.
so i only want to verify if i can consider this normal and i can ignore it?
also i want to thank you for your patience and for all your fast response.
