Trouble installing Yellow Dog on PS3
 

Hello to all.

I've been searching high and low for the answer and I have not found it yet. Hopefully I may be able to find it here.

I've been trying to install yellow dog linux on my playstation 3. But I have run across this problem. I've done everything on the instructions on installing the product. But when it prompts me to the KBOOT function, it does nothing. I tried typing install. but it responds with this prompt

/init: eval :1: install : not found.


What am I doing wrong??? The ISO installation disk is placed in there, so I dont see where I've went wrong. Someone please help me with this.

YDL 5 for PS3 trouble installing!

Yeah I'm having trouble installing YDL 5.0 as well. My problem the installer gets to kboot, it tries to verify vmlinux-ps3, but it says it cannot determine file type "vmlinux-ps3." When I look at the iso folder in ppc64 the file vmlinux-ps3 is there but it is an unknown file type.

I finally got it working. What I did was I went back to the ps3 and set the partition again and booted up the install other OS prompt. I did the same exact steps and it was smooth sailing from there. Go figure. lol.
