Tring to install Vmware tools on Ubuntu 10.04 server .


hey .
well 1st am a new to linux world and i have been on for almost 36 hours tring to understand alot of thing there and i found so far the best software i can use on my machine i followed alot of link and installed etc..
well to be kinda straight way to the issue
i got an error while installing Vmware tools * i think i had one b4 * not sure about that since i downloaded a version says it has the Vmware tools already , then i continued the steps till i got that error below :

before you compile u need to make sure that following is installed :

Make
Gcc
kerenal headers

the path '''' is not valid path to the gcc binary
would you like to change it? [yes]

.......................

please find me a solution i decided to do not sleep until i fix that

Have you installed the mentioned package in ubuntu?

Make
Gcc
kerenal headers

As they are necessary package for VMware tools and let me know which vmware are you using? Is it VMware workstation or VMware ESX or any VMware software where you have installed Ubuntu?
