transplant OO.o 2.0 beta from KNOPPIX to Ubuntu - is it possible?

I do not have a broadband connection, but I do have the Ubuntu 5.04 [Hoary] CD and the KNOPPIX 3.9 CD.

Hoary has OpenOffice.org 1.1.3, and KNOPPIX has a beta version of 2.0 (I don't remember the exact version right now)

I was wondering if there was a way to get the 2.0 beta from KNOPPIX and put it on Hoary.

Thanks for any ideas.

It probably can't be done (easily), but nothing is impossible. You will need some way to uncompress the files on the knoppix cd. If the knoppix cd can uncompress it you should be able to do it from within Ubuntu. As far as I remember there is a 695 MB file on the cd where all the programs are packaged. These live distros often use squashfs or unionfs. There should be an uncompressor for that.
Good luck!

Nah! I just downloaded the RPM 'installer' from openoffice.org.
