transcribing mp3 lectures

I bought a digital recorder last week that creates wav files. I write slower than I am able to take lecture notes, so I'm thinking that to get all the notes off these wav files that I convert to mp3s I need to transcribe them to text files on my pc. Is there Linux software that would do this on my pc?

There's a program called transcriber, which looks pretty useful for this type of thing. I've never used it though. It's probably available in your distro's repositories.

(I've found that a simple repository search is often all I have to do to discover programs that fit my needs.)
