transcode install SuSE 9.1 Pro

I've been having a problem getting transcode installed on my system. I've downloaded all rpm's from packman or the rpm.pbone.net site.

Here's the error:

Code:
chuckufarley:/media/dvdrecorder # rpm -Uvh transcode-0.6.12-0.pm.2.i686.rpm
warning: transcode-0.6.12-0.pm.2.i686.rpm: V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID cd3140cd
error: Failed dependencies:
        libMagick.so.0 is needed by transcode-0.6.12-0.pm.2
        libslang.so.1 is needed by transcode-0.6.12-0.pm.2
chuckufarley:/media/dvdrecorder # whereis libMagick.so.0
libMagick.so: /usr/lib/libMagick.so.6 /usr/lib/libMagick.so

I tried renaming so.6 to so.0 and I found libslang in a i486 folder in /usr/i486-linux-libc5/lib I copied into /usr/lib and that didn't work either.

I have the following versions of ImageMagick installed already, which appear the most current.

ImageMagick-5.5.7-225.6.i586.rpm
ImageMagick-Magick++-5.5.7-225.6.i586.rpm
ImageMagick-devel-5.5.7-225.6.i586.rpm
Anyone have any other suggestions on what I need to do. I'm kinda at a loss here.

TIA

Making a symlink named libMagick.so.0 might work better...renaming the lib is a bad idea.

Another option is to make sure imagemagick is in a directory where the RPM can find it. You might try
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH="/path/to/libmagick:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH"
before installing the RPM.

My favorite advice, though, is try installing from source. This way you don't have to be so concerned about versions. I have Imagemagick 5.5.7 on SuSE 9.0 and installed transcode from source just a few days ago with zero issues.

If you're sure your libraries will work with transcode, you can pass an option to rpm to force the issue. Check the man page, I think it is --nodeps or something like that.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll be out of town for the next week, but I'll give it a shot when I get back.
