Transcode DVD soundtrack rip skip problem
I am using Transcode to rip the soundtrack of a DVD so I can produce a .wav file and then edit that down to fit on 2 CDs for the car. The DVD is Dave Matthews Band Live and it is 2 hours, 28 minutes long.
I get a 1.5 GB .wav file that is the same length as the movie, but it cuts out/skips at a periodic rate throughout playback, approximately every other second is blank/quiet.
Here are both invocations I have tried (VIDEO_TS is the directory with the .VOB files, dmb.wav is the output file):
$ transcode -x null,vob -i VIDEO_TS -a 1 -y wav -J resample -E 44100 -o dmb.wav
$ transcode -a 0 -x null,vob -i VIDEO_TS -E 44100 -J resample --a52_drc_off -y null,wav -o /dev/null -m dmb.wav
I tried adding the -d switch but that made a static filled mess, that also skips!
This invocation gave me a complete .wav file but only 137 MB in size, but the correct play length. It doesn't have very good quality:
$ transcode -p VIDEO_TS -a 1 -y raw -m dmb.wav
Does anybody know what I am doing wrong here so I can "Skip" the skip?
I'm running Mandrake 10.1 and transcode v0.6.12 .
Thanks!
