YES!!! I figured it out..for some reason localhost was not resolving to my loopback address.. I edited to the host file so that localhost was pointing to 127.0.0.1 now the default traceroute launcher works...

I uninstalled then reinstalled the RPM and sure enough, xtmr opens with a "trace" to localhost.

I wonder why there was no default entry in my host file for localhost or what may have removed the entry..
