touchpad not working properly in FC9

Hello folks,
I have recently upgraded my laptop (lenovo T43) to FC9 from FC8. In FC8 the "tapping" (on the touchpad) used to work perfectly. Now since upgradation to FC9, the touchpad tapping has stopped working. I have tried every thing but somehow it does not seem to work. The package installed is synaptics-0.14.6-7.fc9.
Can anyone one guide me in my endeavour to put my laptop on an even keel.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks,
I checked this but somehow not convinced about its relevance, since the documentation says that this package deals with the audio.

Tele me did you really had your problem resolved by installation of this package.
