I am using Gnome's Totem player, but cannot play videos encoded as H.264 properly. They play, but the sound rapidly becomes unsynchronised from the video. This only happens with H.264 videos.
I have tried researching this problem generally on the internet, but have come up empty.
I am aware that codecs are to do with the back-end of this application, namely GStreamer.
Totem does not have - as far as I know - any facility to alter the playback speed of video/audio as the video is playing (unlike mplayer). However, mplayer does not play H.264 on my machine at all, and another thread I put on Linuxquestions about this has ground to a halt (
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...-video-738275/). However, if I could just get the sound-synching problem fixed in Totem, all would be well.
Are there any forums for Totem that I could try for an answer, or does anyone have any suggestions how I could fix this problem? H.264 videos play, but just not with synchronised sound!
