Totem errors

Hi All

Dell inspiron 1100, 40gb, 512 ram, Suse 10.1 boxed.

when i run totem to play a video home file i get an error message. i have used yast to install everything for totem from the dvd. when i run totem with a video file the message is

Totem could not play 'file:///media/NEW/Home Video/MOV01630.MPG'.

You do not have a decoder installed to handle this file. You might need to install the necessary plugins.

i am sorry if i have missed out something that would help with this problem.

The problem is that you dont have plugins for Totem to handle MPG files, you will either have to find the plugins or use a different media player.
I personally use VLC, its easy to use and has available plugins for any format I care to use (Proprietary MS ones not included there...)

I havent managed to find a decoder for Totem, and a quick search on Synaptic doesnt show anything either.
