Tools to record internet radio broadcasts
Hello all,
I have recently installed realplayer to access internet radio broadcasts. I am running RH8. I would like to be able to record some of these broadcasts, but I have no idea what tool(s) I might use to do so. Can anyone make suggestions? Thank you, Thomas |
mplayer will do it fine. probably. normally. depending on what the stream actually is. yeah.

Chris, I have recently begun using Mplayer. Had a hell of a time getting it up and working, but I am now using it to play audio and video. I do not, however, see any option for RECORD.
|
option? oh you're using that gui i guess.. well stop using that for a start... if you have lame properly set up on your system then you should be able to record mp3 streams with mencoder. if you don't have mencoder compiled from mplayer then recompile it and fine out why
|
Chris, I'm lost. I am willing to use command line for whatever, but your comments aren't helping--sorry. Mplayer from command line says nothing about recording. Lame is no where to be found. Care to share some details?
Thanks, TAH |
mplayer has a secondary recording program called mencoder which can record *most* interest streams. compile mplayer properly and mencoder should be ready to go.

Hi,
I solved this problem by using mplayer. When you use it, you can tell it to output the sound in a PCM file. For me this worked fine: mplayer -ao pcm -aofile <filename> <URL> |
