Hello everybody,

Thanks to everybody on the forum - I have been able to successfully able to configure and start a squid proxy server on my Fedora core 3.

My Fedora COre machine running squid has an ADSL connection to internet. Is it possible to configure the machine (squid) in such a way that the ADSL connection comes up automatically only on reciept of any request. And when all the clients have broken connection, after waiting for some time the machine should automatically bring down the ADSL connection; to bring it up again on reciept of any request.


I believe it should somehow be possible. But "how" beats me.
Can any one help me ?

you can configure your ADSL

that facility is provided by the ADSL configuration .
You search that option in the ADSL screen Configuration

just clicked there only .. on demand
