If you received your own post, what would you do? You haven't provided any information at all. For all I know you have an Apple II.

1. What kind of computer do you have?

2. What operating system?

3. What version of that operating system?

4. How much RAM do you have?

5. How much free hard drive space do you have?

That would be a good start.

Okay. Open a terminal window and run "top":

Code:
$ top
Leave that window running in the background. Do something that you know causes your machine to slow down. Look at the "top" output. See what the top CPU user is. That will be your first clue.
