tmpfs for Windows
Greetings. Does anyone know if there is an equivalent of tmpfs for Windows. Right now, my setup is having Linux use a single partition as swap with /tmp being mounted as tmpfs which I think is really elegant. Windows XP is configured to use the same swap partition with a fixed size swap file and some space for temporary files (I did this with scripts that initializes the partition to be used for Linux or Windows upon startup/shutdown).
This setup only gives me a limited and fixed amount of temporary space under Windows. Is there a way I could create a virtual memory file system and use that as TMP? If not, how hard would it be to port tmpfs to Windows? Thanks for any help.
